Iran Warns Israel, US Assets Could Become “Legitimate Targets”

(MENAFN) Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf cautioned on Sunday that Israel and US military and shipping facilities would be deemed “legitimate targets” should Washington initiate a military strike against Tehran.

During a parliamentary address, Ghalibaf directed his remarks at US President Donald Trump, declaring: “Within the framework of legitimate defense, we do not limit ourselves to responding only after an action. In the event of a US military attack, both the occupied territories (Israel) and US military and shipping centers will be legitimate targets for us.”

He explained that Iran is currently confronting Israel and the US across four simultaneous arenas — economic, cognitive, military, and terrorist warfare — stressing that these fronts are “unfolding simultaneously.”

Meanwhile, Trump commented on Saturday that Iranians were “looking at freedom,” as demonstrations that began on Dec. 28 continued to expand nationwide.

He added that Washington was prepared to extend support to the protesters.
