Spanish Air Europa Restarts Flights Operations to Israel
The airline had previously halted service in response to hostilities between Israel and Iran, during which Israeli airspace was briefly shut down.
Additional carriers are set to follow: Greece’s flagship airline, Aegean Airlines, plans to resume service on Tuesday. United Airlines, based in the United States, is expected to restart flights on July 21, while Bulgaria Air is scheduled to follow suit on July 31.
The disruption began after a significant escalation on June 13, when Israel carried out widespread airstrikes targeting multiple locations in Iran, including military and nuclear installations. The strikes resulted in the deaths of high-ranking military officials, nuclear scientists, and civilians. Iran retaliated with several waves of drone and missile attacks directed at Israel.
After nearly two weeks of intense conflict, a ceasefire agreement between the two nations was reached on June 24.
